Coke Fest ’18 is all about concerts and confusion

Things to look forward to at the Coke Fest 2018

Coke Fest will be closing tonight and if you have missed out on the three-day street food fest going on in Karachi, it isn’t something to grieve for this year.

Food fests will keep coming around and the concerts you could be attending in Rs.450 at the Coke Fest will also come around. Let’s just hope Zoe Viccaji and Farhan Saeed live long until another food festival.

Other than that, there’s no point paying the entry fee just for the sake of street food— in fact you’ll be wasting the passes even if you walk in at 2 or 3pm (the food stalls are officially scheduled to open at 1pm but people at the stalls said they won’t be ready till 3pm).

If the fest is open during the day it should have been ready to go. But you can’t expect anything from the stalls during the day even though the festival is open.

If you’re looking forward to the Coke Fest, your expectations better be all about concerts, a lot of confusion at the entrance (as no clear markings of where to enter from) and barely any biryani.

Biryani mushkil se milay gi.

The only deal to the rescue when you’re starving and craving for something nice is to grab some pizza. Basically anything from Dominos, Burger Lab or Tao. Dynamite prawns at Tao have been the talk of the Fest.

You get to get to park your car too since the concert will go on until midnight, but that comes with a little inconvenience too because the parking has access from a broken dusty thin road.

Once in the area; the ticketing is not clear and unstaffed. The process is not explained as to where to get the tickets or entry from.

Plus point for struggling models too. Beware you might come across any stranger requesting for a picture. ‘Hamaray model kay sath picture le lain’ can be expected.

Good to go if you see no harm in introducing your date to the world as you might bump into literally anyone at these food fests. Even better if you voluntarily want an unexpected reunion with a long-lost friend.
