CM Buzdar takes notice of couple’s harassment in Murree
ISLAMABAD: The prominent tourist destination of Pakistan, Murree, once again witnessed incident of harassment when a couple in Murree has been reportedly subjected to violence and disrespectful behavior by hotel agents yesterday.
According to the eyewitnesses, the incident emerged when some hotel agents catcalled at a woman tourist near Grand Post Office (GPO) Chowk at a time when she was walking on Mall Road around 6.30 pm with her husband.
Subsequent to which, matter got more intensified when her husband interrupted and requested the agents to refrain from such disgusting behavior, as a result of which the harassers started beating the women in the center of the road but no one paid heed to this or tried to stop those irksome harassers.
Sources disclosed that even by-passers and the traffic police officers were present at the time of incident but none of them dare to diffuse the matter.
It is not over here only, after the incident when the couple reached to the local check-post, the in-charge refused to take any action upon the family’s complaint.
Meanwhile, a video related to the incident went viral on social media after which Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar directed inspector-general (IG) for Punjab to submit a report regarding the incident.
CM further stressed over the providing complete justice to the family at all costs.
Later, the City Police Officer (CPO) for Rawalpindi suspended the in-charge as well as other police officials posted at check-point.
