PM Imran Khan is an angel, says Navjot Singh Sidhu
Prime Minister Imran Khan is an angel who wants peace with India, said former Indian cricketer, incumbent Congress leader and minister Navjot Singh Sidhu.
“All we need to establish peace between the two countries is political will. That has been demonstrated by that angel from across the border,” he said in reference to Imran Khan.
The main goal of the proposed corridor is to facilitate the crossing of religious devotees to visit the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur, located in Narowal District, Pakistan, 120 km from Lahore but only three kilometres from the Indian side of the border.
Sidhu, a former cricketer who had attended Prime Minister Khan’s oath taking ceremony three months ago in Pakistan, said that religion had always united people.
“Religion never separates people,” he said. “It is always used to unite people and bring them together. This is the message that we must take from this entire episode,” he added.
Sidhu wondered that if the Berlin Wall could fall and North & South Korea could play as one team then what was so different about India and Pakistan.
“Why can we not have peace?” he asked.
