PM approves interim province status for Gilgit-Baltistan
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan today has given green signal to change the status of Gilgit-Baltistan to an interim province after accepting the recommendations of reform committee.
Sources disclosed that Imran Khan has approved and directed that the recommendations must be presented before the federal cabinet.
The committee formed to bring constitutional and structural reforms in G-B held its second session on Tuesday, which was presided by Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Affairs Ali Ameen Khan in Islamabad.
Following to which committee members met PM Imran at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The meeting at the PM House was also attended by Law minister Farogh Naseem, the attorney general of Pakistan, governor Gilgit-Baltistan and other top political figures.
