Indian batting sensation Virat Kohli has caused an uproar on social media after he told a fan to ‘live somewhere else’. The fan had claimed in a message that he preferred watching English and Australian batsmen to Indians.

Virat Kohli was answering questions from fans during a live session on the launch of his app. The star batsmen read out a message from a person who labeled Kohli as an ‘overrated’ batsman.

“Why are you living in our country and loving other countries? I don’t mind you not liking me, but I don’t think you should live in our country and like other things,” he added.

Kohli told the fan to ‘get his priorities right’.

Twitterati were quick to call out the Indian batsman for hypocrisy, considering he had also praised stars from other countries on different occasions.

This is not the first time that Kohli has been taken to task on social media for his controversial remarks.

In 2016 when the Indian government cancelled 86% of the government’s currency,  Kohli termed it as the ‘greatest move’ in politics he had ever come across.

This sparked outrage as the move had hampered the lives of millions of people in India.
