October 18 tragedy: PPP remembers Karsaz martyrs today
KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is marking the 11th anniversary of 2017 Karsaz bombings with due reverence and solemnity in Karachi and other parts Pakistan.
The deadly bombing took place on Oct 18, 2007, when Benazir Bhutto was returning home from an exile after nine years.
She was greeted by a big procession of jiyalas from the airport to the city centre.
More than 160 PPP activists lost their lives and hundreds suffered injuries when two bomb blasts ripped through the procession.
The main ceremony will be organised at the memorial for martyrs of the tragedy built in Karachi’s Karsaz area.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will also visit the memorial and lay floral wreaths and offere fateha for the martyrs.
